How to copy an Advanced Layout Designer layout from db to db ?

I am planning to migrate from the "standard" layout designer to Advanced Layout Designer, as the ALD has some features required in a customer project.

While the pdf manual as well as the online help indicate that the add-on is capable of exporting and importing layouts as files, the menu items mentioned in these documents just don't seem to exist. Am I doing something wrong or are these functions disabled in the current version of ALD ?

What about copying the layouts directly with SQL? Is this the half-official kludge for copying layouts in ALD as it was with the old layout designer?

I remember hearing from the dev team that these layouts would be exposed in the DI API, but this doesn't seem to be true for the current DI API (6.7/2004).

Regards,

Henry

Hi Henry,

Although I have uninstalled ALD, I remember that the import/export functionallity was under Administration, Data Import/Export.

Can´t remember exactly, but you should be able to find it.

Hope helps,

Hi Ibai,

Many thanks for your help, this was exactly what I was looking for. I kept looking for the function from the ALD UI and didn't realize it was hidden in the SBO menus.
