Load 0CALMONTH hierarchy without infosource?

Hi,

in our system 0CALMONTH is maintained with hierarchies and we see entries exist for 0CALMONTH.

But, interestingly, we couldn't able to find infosource for 0CALMONTH.

Could someone please let us know how this could be possible?

How 0CALMONTH hierarchy has entries without infosource?

( I read documentation & How-To document about loading hierarchy from flatfile using infosource).

Is there a way to add more entries into 0CALMONTH without infosource?

Is "loading hierarchy from flat file using infosoruce" the only way to load an hierarchy?

Appreciate any help.

Hi dear,

since 0CALMONTH as a std time characteristic, its content coming from related tables from R/3 and to feed them the only way is to do right-click on your source system and transfer global settings !

That's why you don't find a 'classic' infosource !!!

However you can always do what do you want manually...

thanks for your reply.

well, I am manually trying to maintain hierarchy by adding new nodes from months 6/2008 to 12/2008 (currently,hierarchy is maintained with nodes until 5/2008).

--> I'm in the maintainance screen of hierarchy.

--> right click on top node & I selected insert characteristic (0calmonth)

--> Here, I expect to be able to select months from 6/2008 - 12/2008

But, in the pop-up window values, I don't see these months listed. How can I insert these months?

Please note that /BI0/SCALMONTH & /BI0/RCALMONTH tables are filled with these months.

Is "transferring gloabl settings" the only way for this?

If transfer Global settings have not been done for a while, it would be a good idea.

Sometimes the popup window only gives you part of the list.. Have you clicked on the globe icon when you bring up the popup window? That shows all values.

Hi Mary,

thanks for your tip.

actually, globe window doesn't show up in the pop-up window.

icons showed up are only, "enter, select all, de-select all, filter, cancel"

then, I tried by clicking on filter icon & manually typed in desired months & the system did accept the manual entries & that's how I fixed the hierarchy.

But, I still wonder why the remaining months are not showing up in the list.

even after adding new nodes & activating, I again went back to hierarchy maintenance & still I don't see any months greater than 5/2008.

Is there any setting to control "display maximum number of entries in the window"?

Anyhow, Greatly appreciate all your help.

Go to RSA1 -> 0CALMONTH ->

check if in Business Explorer tab you have only values in Infoprovider or only posted value and switch it to values in master data table (if you have something there...otherwise I think that it's better to have in selection only months that effectively are in your provider (the opposite doesn't make sense...)!!!

Hi Roberto,

you are right. in business explorer properties, it has setting "display only info provider values".

But, We don't have any data for 1998 - 2000 in any data provider & these values are listed in the pop-up window.

If the source is only info provider values, these months should not appear right?

pop-up window is displaying list from 5/1998 - 5/2008.

Chances are someone created the hierarchy manually in BW system on 0Calmonth...

We had to load some future 0calmonth before they exist in R/3 and did it by creating a test/dummy cube with 0calmonth and load some sample/made up flat file data with those new 0calmonth values.
