Can't upload SAP package in front end and application server

Good Afternoon Experts,

I am having some problems when i try to upload SAP package in the front end and in the application server, in front end when i select the decompress action there is this error message saying that "no OCS file were found for uploading". That is where i try to decompress the SAP package directly to the server(OS Solaris 9), but when i decompress it using command CAR -xvf KH46C36.CAR -V it prompts an error like "error 16: cant change date of file EPS/in/SAPpackage.ATT Value to large for defined data type". I am new at this so i seek different forums for solution but i have no luck so far. hoping for your immediate response.

Thank you in advance and cheers,

Paul janber

      Hi Bhuban,

This is the result when i check RZ11.

      Dflt value = /usr/sap/trans/EPS

      ProfileVal = /usr/sap/trans/EPS

      Current Value = /usr/sap/trans/EPS

should i change this value to "/usr/sao/trans/EPS" if so how?

      Thank you and cheers,

    Hi Paul,

Please check if the SIDADM user is having proper permissions in the file system. Please upload the valid maintenance certificate in SLICENSE .

    Thanks,

    Jagadish.

    Hi experts,

Thank you for your time giving me tips and answers. As of now i have extracted the SAPpackage.ATT to /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in but the SAPpackage.PAT is still not being decompressed. can i know how can i decompressed selected SAPpackage only the one that has the extension name .PAT i think it is the OCS that SPAM is looking for.

Thank you in advance and Cheers,

      Hi Arjun,

That is the Problem, when i decompressed the .CAR file and i check /usr/sap/trans/ESP/in only the .ATT file is been extracted i cant find the .PAT file anywhere. So i check the files inside the .CAR file using SPAM >> Load packages > from frontend the .PAT file is there. Any idea why?

      Thank you and cheers,

    Hi Paul,

I think the issue could be with SAPCAR version you are using, not with the files getting extracted.

Kindly go through the SAP note : 529655 - SAPCAR error: can't change date: value too large.

May be it would help you in some sense.

    Regards,

    Sumit

    Came accross similar issue.

Turns out that the paramater SAPTRANSHOST parameter was not set in the DEFAULT profile therefore Saint/Spam was reading from the wrong server instead of the location where files were extracted.
