Embedding Query

I'm working on performance. My query spends about 15 seconds saying "embedding query" . Does anyone know what is occurring while this message is displayed. There may be a system parameter that needs to be changed to speed this "initial query load" up.

I have 12 queries that must run in a workbook and they all take about 1 minute. If I could shave another 15 seconds off per query it might be acceptable.

Thanks

I know 15 seconds doesn't sound like much but when an SVP is waiting its a long time.

    Any ideas on whats happening?
