Need to make line item text field mandatory in MB1A

Hi All,

I need to make line item Text field mandatory in t-code MB1A.

table name is MSEG and Field name is SGTXT.

Please tell the steps to make it mandatory at line item level.

Hi,

If you are very specific for only MB1A transaction copy your existing movement type and create a Z m.type and in "allowed transactions" give only MB1A as allowed transaction.

Hi,

You can do it with field selection with transaction OMBW, select the movement type click on details select the General data then make the line item text as required entry.

Hi,

If you do at movement type level apart from MB1A other tcodes like MIGO, MB11 anywhere you use 201 there item text will become mandatory. If item text has to be mandatory only in MB1A then follow the above procedure.

Hi All,

It's done. I did it via T-Code OMJJ.

Here are the solution steps-

OMJJ - Click on Mvnt Type - Provide mvnt type 201 (specific mvnt type) - Select Field selection (from 201)/Batch search procedure -Select  Item 201 GI for cost center -  Click on Magnifying Glass - Click on General Data Tab - Line Item Text - Radio Button Reqd. Entry - Save it.

You can do it mvt. type wise. Go to specific mvt. type in OMJJ and add this field as mandatory.

Hi Dakshesh,

I have done settings as per your suggestion. In OMJJ I chose Movement Type then provided 201 mvnt type and then selected Field Selection (Enjoy). Here I opted for Field SGTXT as Required Entry.

Now when I go to MB1A and check Line Item Text Field then it is not reflecting as mandatory. I saved doc w/o mentioning text in it and my document got saved.

Please suggest where is the error.
