datasource transport issue

Hi,

i have enhanced the data source in R/3 ( just made a field in datasource as unhidden), replicated the same in BW Dev system. The changes are reflecting in BW Dev system and am able to get the data into BW system for the new field.

I captured the datasource in R/3 in transport request and have released to Test System. The transport was successfull without any errors. But the changes are not reflecting in Test system. The field of the datasource is not present in Test system. Not sure what has to be done.

Can anyone advice.

Hi Madhav,

What Jhansi said is right. Once you have moved the changes to R3, you will have to replicate the data source, activate it. When doing this you will be asked for a transport request. Collect these in a TR and also move it to the BW Test system. So the replica of the data source and the active version will be moved and available in the test system.

Now that the R/3 transport is in the test system, you will have to replicate the DataSource in your BW test system and subsequently activate it.

Being able to manually activate in the test system (and subsequently in Production) is unlikely, so you may have to capture your activated DataSource in the Dev BW system and move it over to the Test BW system once replication is done.

It is a pre-requisite to make the data source available before performing the transport.make the datasource available and the re-import the transport and overwrite the changes

Hi Venkata,

The data source is already existing in Dev, Test, Quality and Production systems.

Now I have enhanced the exisiting data source in DEV and collected in transport request and released.

The transport request did not give any errors and was successfull. But the changes are not reflecting in the target system. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

The datasource & transformations are dependent on the source system. Can you please confirm if this target BW system is connected with the source R/3 system where active datasource exist.

If this target BW system is connected with some other R/3 system, can you please confirm that before transporting BI requests from one system to other, did you transport transport requests from source R/3 system to target R/3 system.
