Hi Heeck,

Thanks for your reply !

Sorry it's not template roles.

We developed 3 systems landscape for our client. We need to provide security, authorization for all end users depends upon the modules like PP, MM, SD etc.

My Question is: I need module specific tcodes for end users for restricting access at application level. For that any SAP standard authorizations are available in SMP. If not, where can I get the format ?Please, help me out on this question.

Thanks and Regards,

Praneeth.

Hi Praneeth,

I'm afraid it's not going to be that easy.  Creating application level controls with authorizations is a task that needs to be done by an experienced security consultant at best. Doing it badly or wrong will create risk for the company as well as extra maintenance cost.

Looking at your question I'd suggest you try and get an experienced guy to assist you in doing this.

Frank.

Hi Praneeth,

If your question is regarding creation of the module specific Security Roles.

You can always find SAP Standard roles for  PP, MM, SD ... etc...where you can check the transaction codes assigned to the particular Module's Roles.

or Try SPRO and check the Transaction codes assigned under each module.

Hope this helps...

When building roles for the various modules you need to take into account not just the transaction codes but your particular organisational structure - plants, purchasing groups, company codes, sales areas, etc. And each organisation typically structures their people differently too, and has different segregation of duties concerns, so even the distribution of tcodes between security roles will differ from one organisation to the next.

SAP do provide sample roles but in my experience nobody ever uses them, and certainly we didn't even use them for reference. As said, you really need to at least start by talking to an expert, not just in the technical construction of roles but also in audit requirements. You don't need to have such a person do the work of building the roles (we didn't) but you will need help and guidance especially at the start.

Thanks Frank,

Yes, I too agree with you. Presently I'm looking for sample Role Matrix to give to functional consultants for making the Matrix.
