Hello Kumar,
What serial number you are entering ? What is your unit of measure ?
Do you need serial number for your header material ?
Can you post some screenshots of COGI ?

Hello,
Yes the assignment in AFKO would probably be the cause. Are you using automatic GR functionality via your production scheduling profile probably assigned to your production scheduler ?
Does your header material have a serial number profile assigned ?
Try to remove the serial number profile assigned from AFKO in a non production enviornment where you have simulated the issue with the help of you ABAP and check if that works.

Hello Kumar,
Please check if you have any production supervisor assigned in the material master.
Hello Kumar,
Can you check below and respond if they are helfpul ?
1) In the material master Enviornment -> Display changes check if the material had a serial number profile assigned when the order was created and was later removed.
2) Check against the production order number AUFNR in table AFPO if there is an entry for Serial number profile in column SERNP.
3) Check if any enhancements in the system causing the serial number assignment.
