PLM 7.x Default viewer

Dear all,

We all know that for implementing Redlining (Annotation) functionality for DIR in ECC user has to install appropriate ECL viewer because standard viewer does not support it.

Similarly when I went thru SAP demo's for PLM 7.1& 7.2 I found that SAP has come up with new viewer called RH viewer which has high-end functionalities. Also I came to know that it is not free in PLM 7.1 but from 7.2 it will be included in the package it self. Now my questions are as below.

1) What are the standard viewer capabilities in PLM 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2?

2) Whether standard viewers in PLM 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2 supports Annotation functionality?

3) If I need to implement Annotation functionality in PLM 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2, what are the possible options?

From PLM 7.0 onwards,RH integrated viewer is offered for customers as standard viewer.For capabilities,refer this wiki section.

2) Whether standard viewers in PLM 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2 supports Annotation functionality?

Yes.

3) If I need to implement Annotation functionality in PLM 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2, what are the possible options?

RH viewer is the default option.For external viewers,compatibility with PLM 7.x applications needs to be verified.Also,please note that ECL viewer is meant for R/3 backend use only and not for web applications.

Thanks for clarifications.

But as per my knowledge RH viewer is chargeble for 7.0 and 7.01

SAP is planning to make it standard viewer from 7.02 onwards. If I am correct then 7.02 is not available and will be in market by June 2012.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You mean to say that there will not be any separate installation reqd. for using RH viewer in SAP PLM 7.x products.

Latest update as per this thread,RH viewer is available at no additional cost from SAP PLM 7.0 onwards.
