brbackup and sub directory

Hello,

i have some issue with brbackup and i need your support please:

brbackup does not maintain the structure of the database, while making a disk copy, datafiles are extracted and placed directly in the root directory. no sub directory are maintained

how to maintain the same structure?

It's a feature, not an issue.

Why would you need the same directory structure in backup directory?

File names are unique, no problem will occur.

And a restore will work as well, because brrestore will know how brbackup did it.

in fact this is requested by my boss, is there any method to maintain sub-directories ?

Any change you could persuade him, what does and what does not make sense?

Directory structure is kept as part of the .afd file created at the time of the backup.

Certainly datafiles won't reflect the path they were taken from that will make no sense.

i never lunch a restoration, can you please send me the command line?

there is brbackup command line:

brbackup -p initFRP_to_disk.sap -c -d disk -m all -u system/*******
