Combination of webdynpros, workflow, Business Client and Tcode: SWFVMD1

Hi All,

Can any one help me in finding a solution for my requirement.

Requirement: Using Webdynpros Abap in Business Workflow in combination with Netweaver Business client?

When I searched on SDN about the worklfow and webdynpro combination I could get a lot of hits but all of them are dealt with the scenariou2019s including Webdynpros, Workflow, UWL, Portal and transaction SWFVISU. But I am using the scenario including webdynpros, workflow, inbox of Business Client and transaction SWFVMD1 .

I did not get any hits for the search using SWFVMD1 transaction.

Thanks

Kumar

Hi,

SO, you have already information about the combination of WF, WDA and UWL. Well, now you just replace the UWL part with the Business Client's Business Workflow Workplace. Do you have possibility to open/use this business client's workplace? As far as I understand it has basically the same functionality as the business workplace in SAP GUI. I would be very surprised if you cannot easily launch WDA applications from NWBC Workflow Workplace.

As far as I understand SWFVMD1 is tool to configure what will happen when you click a work item in workplace. For example if you have an approval task TS90000001, and when user clicks that he wants WDA application X launched and certain parameters given to this application. This should be quite easy to configure. I think that SWFVMD1 is pretty much the same as SWFVISU is for UWL - you can configure what happens when user clicks a task in UWL.

Have you searched also OSS about possible notes. Do not search only with the transaction name but instead try to find information about workflow workplace for NWBC.

Hi karri,

Thanks for the reply yes I have already searched for OSS notes available linked to this and could find one ( Note : 1176862) but that shows configuring a GUI or FORM but not WebDynpro. I tried to add all the parameters similar to that of the SWFVISU but doesn't work that way.

Yes my requirement is when a user clicks on a Task in the workflow box of Business client I need to call a Web dynpro .

Thanks

Hi again,

Following note1176862, I tried with the following parameters (SWFVMD1):

OBJECT_TYPE           ???

OPERATION               ???

APPLICATION             FITE_EXPENSES

NAMESPACE             sap

SAP_FITV_ACTION     DIS

SAP_FITV_PERSNO   &EMPLOYEENUMBER&

SAP_FITV_TRIPNO     &TRIPNUMBER&

SAP-WD-CONFIGID     ZHR_FITE_EXPENSES_RENUSA

But I'm not sure how to fill the firsts two parameters... any help, please? What should I add in the PFCG transaction?

Thanks so much!

Miguel Angel.

I'm following the next help to configure PFCG transaction: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/44/dc652c10d356b4e10000000a1553f7/content.htm

But without results... when the user clicks over inbox task TS20000189, the system still launchs PR05 transaction, not FITE_EXPENSES WD ABAP app.

Please, any idea?? I also configured SWFVISU transaction with the same values that SWFVMD1... even I'm working with NWBC...

HI ,

Sorry for late reply .

You have to use SWFVMD1 tcode and this is the way I have configured it .

In Tcode PFCG this is how i did it , I first went to a Z Role created for this purpose and then went to MENU tab in that and then added a Webdynpro application using the TRASACTION button and then added details as shown below.

Hope this Helps u .

Thx

Hello Kumar,

I assume you are talking about a completely custom solution. If that is the case, I have to disagree with your approach. The mission of workflow is similar to that of the mailman; it delivers packages and does not know what's inside them. Similarly, workflow does not care what is inside the different packages (tasks). The business analyst who wants to automate a business process must show you first how a process works without workflow. Then you can model that process in workflow. Where this is taking me is that if there was not a web dynpro (that corresponds to a transaction or an iView) already built that you can use, you need to build it separately as to be self-sufficient transaction. Then, you can call that from workflow. So, associating workflow and web dynpro is not the right way to go.
