WebI 4.0 using BEx Query - #TOREFRESH when using input control

Former Member

Once I refresh my webI report for certain month range and then I use input control for analysing my data within that month range. It always ask for refresh "#TOREFRESH".

The above happens also if I have lot of formula variables in my report then it always ask for refresh when I use input controls on different member.

Please let me know if this is a known issue.

I posted this in Ideas too - > https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/9226?back=false

Thanks

The users have to manually refresh the report when they get  #TOREFRESH. They are asking to have auto refresh feature. Does SAP have any plan to bring that feature? I know amny other people also have the same need.

#TOREFRESH normally indicates that the returned data have dependencies for which you need to manually refresh again to pull the correct data however this would incorrectly appear under some circumstances.

Please see [Using Functions, Formulas and Calculations in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP5/en/xi31_sp5_webi_ffc_en.pdf] for additional information.

If you are below SP3 FP3.7 we suggest to upgrade to that patch level or better to SP4 FP4.1 or SP5

Please note that Ideas is for new functionalities

Thanks

Can you please expand on how the input control data are structured?

Are there merged dimensions or hierarchies or other in the data referenced in the input control?

Input control is based on calender month coming from BEx Query. And I have refreshed my query initially for Jan 2012 - Feb 2012. For Analyising jan 2012 it ask for refresh.

Also I have atleast 50+ formula variables build in this report which is pluged in to a single cell or as a column.

And some calculations are overwritten ina cell.

So I am not sure if it is asking for refresh because I have lot of formula variables used in the report.

Thanks

Hii Sini ,

#TOREFRESH Error occurs due to Database Delegate nature of the Key Figure hence if you are using OLAP universes then change the Database Delegate to Sum or any other aggregate function in Properties and if in case you are using BICS Connection then you have to create variables which will

contain Sum as aggregate function and also if the report contains certain objects as Input controls then that object has to be specified explicitly as a part of " IN " Function .

For Eg :

If webi report contains KF as 'Sales Qty' and Input control as 'Plant' , 'Branch' then the new variable will be =Sum([Sales Qty] IN( [plant];[Branch])).

Hope this will resolve your issue.
