GLM: use scenario as validity area in label data view

Hi experts,

In the view label data of the material master I managed data for the labeling determination of GLM.

I understood that is possible to use scenario as validity area in this view in order to narrow the results of the label determination by scenario and packaging unit.

Could you detail me please how to proceed (custo + data + ...) to use this features?

Thanks and Regards,

/Ludo

Hi Ludo,

your assumption is correct. The business function / EH&S Switch for EHP3 is not activated in your system.

Hi Ludo,

I am sorry I have missed a step. You have to assign the validity area also to the scenario.

Goto SPRO --> EH&S --> Product Safety --> GLM --> Specify Labeling Scenario.

Mark the scenario GENERIC. Hit the details button. There is a field "Validity Area". It is the last parameter. Now you have to assign the validity area Generic.

Mike,

Thanks again for your reply.

I don't have the field "validity area" in the details view of generic scenario. I guess there is a business function to activate.

Could you confirm me this point please?

Hi Ludo,

You have to create a new validity area category "SCENARIO":

SPRO --> EHS --> Basic Data and tools --> Specification Management --> Addtional information for value assignement --> Usage --> Specifiy Validity Area Categories

Then you have to create validity areas for this new category "SCENARIO":

SPRO --> EHS --> Basic Data and tools --> Specification Management --> Addtional information for value assignement --> Usage --> Specifiy Validity Area

Use the scenario ID as validity area.

Now you can maintain the validity area in the label data view.

Hello MIke,

Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions then I maintened my scenario as validity area in label data but the system doesn't found label in GLM.

In activity "Specifiy Validity Area Categories", do I need to specify a table, a field and a validity area check function?

Here the log of GLM:

-Label category ZLB_REG2 filtered using validity area SCENARIO ("strange because I put "GENERIC" in label data as validity area)

-No gen. variant found for mat. 000000000000090026, packag. unit DR, and label cat. ZLB_REG2

If I delete the validity area "GENERIC" in label data, system found label.

Regards,
