Hi.
If a master data datasource is enhanced with an append and this datasource has 'delta' field set to A, how can I ensure that delta is delivered on the additional fields too ?
An example is,
Datasource : 0COSTCENTER_ATTR
Extract structure : BIW_CSKB
Extractor : BIW_CSKB
Extraction methods : DB View
Delta process : A
If I now add fields - PKZKS,PKZER to the extract structure in an append, how will delta mechanism work ? Please note that these two fields are already available in the DB view BIW_CSKB.
Best regards.
Hi,
I didnt understand why do u want to add them again in append structure as already part of that extrasct structure.have i understood properly or not please let me know..and regarding delta cpability i mean u want make delta change enable to your new field then u can use BD52 transaction where u can include new fields as well.
I hope it helps...
Thanks
BRB

Hi BRB,
I added my two fields in an append and am able to capture the delta in these fields. My work is done but I still don't understand the ALE change pointer mechanism used to track delta, the relationship between fields of an extract structure and the change document object seen in RSA2 (button Setting-up ALE delta). What is transaction BD57 for ?
Could you explain the ALE change pointer mechanism used to delta enable master data datasources ?
Thanks and regards,
Anuradha
Hi again,
I dug a little bit on TA BD52 and figured that it can be used to maintain fields in a table on which changes can be tracked. So, would adding customer fields on which delta is desired in master data, if added to this table,(and dataelement change pointer flag set') be suffficient to enable delta on customer-added fields (adding these to the extract structure is a given).
hope you understand what I'm tryin to say.. not so clear I think.
Regards,
Anuradha
