I am trying to create service entry sheet and system says "Configuration not possible due to pending entries". Though it is a warning message, but what is the significance of this?..What entries are pending?//

check ACCOUNT ASSINGNMENT CATEGORY and ITEM CATEGORY of the PURCHASE ORDER,then try again to create SERVICE

Use t.code: ML91 and maintain Unit of measure at item level ( default values as AU )and save.Try your tranaction of ML81N
Also check SAP note:1460692 and 824911

I guess if you don't configure release procedure this will come in ML81n
