Cannot install Java license...

Hi all,

i just made a Java HSC from production to development and sapinst failed to install a correct license.

Now when i try to start java engine it tooks more than 30 minutes to change status from starting applications to running (i think this behaviour is ok, is the first start after HSC is finished) so after this time Java istance is stopped and im not able to login in the VA and install a regular license.

How can i do? Theres a different way? Mabye without using VA?

Thanks.

Bye.

Problem solved!

Java parameters was perfect, looking at the OS level the oracle process was the only one used very huge amount of CPU for a long time.

I tried to increase sga_max_size to 6GB, shared_pool_size to 1 and db_cache_size to 5GB and java started in 20 minutes so i was able to login in the VA and install a valid license.

Thanks for your help.

Bye.

I tried to restart Java instance more than once, but it always took more than 30 minutes to start so its impossible to login in the VA...

Hi,

Try to optimize few parameters of the Java engine so that the server starts in less than 30 minutes.

Note 723909 - Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0

Note 861333 - Very slow start of the j2ee engine on AIX with 64bit IBM JDK

Also, try to optimize database parameters according to the note 830576

Have enough Oracle processes and sessions (double the number of processes).

You can find the calculations in the note 830576.

Hi,

Did you attempt to restart once more? You still have choice of 30 minutes time for installing license using VA.
