ADS on SAP XI

We need ADS for printing PDFs...

Does ADS come by default for SAP XI ? I could see ADS service as green in my XI system... Is there anyway I can confirm if ADS is available as a component ?

How does our ECC system connect to ADS in terms of connection setup ?

I dont think that ADS (Adobe Document Services) comes as default in XI.

ADS can be deployed in netweaver app server. You might want to check component monitoring in PI/xi.

ADS supports both abap and java environment. You can use java proxy to integrate ADS.

I have verified that all ADS services are available.

Do we need a three tier landscape for ADS, when ADS is used for printing forms ?
