hi,

How to work with formatted search with SAP Business One 8.81?

Firstly, You need to create Query using Query Generator

1. Tools->Queries->Query Generator.

2. Type the table name (eg. Ohem) in the first text box and press tab.

3. Double click the field (eg. empID) you want to query.

4. Click Execute button.

5. Click Save button.

6. Type Query Name. (eg. Getempno)

7. Type General in the Query Category box.

8. Click Save button.

9. Close Query Preview Dialog box.

10. Close Query Generator Dialog box.

After that, you need to use User defined value

1. Open the Form you want to use Formatted Search. (eg. Human Resources->Employee Master Data)

2. Place the insertion point in the EmployeeNo text box.

3. Tools->User-Defined Values.

4. Click Yes button.

5. Choose the option Search in Existing User-Defined Values according to Saved Query.

6. Click Open Saved Query button.

7. Expand General note and choose the query name. (eg. Getempno)

8. Click OK button.

9. Click Update button.

10. Please check in the box Employee No and you will see formatted search button.

best regards,

Hi,

Welcome you post on the forum.

You may search User Defined Value from B1 e-learning to find it.

Thanks,

Gordon
