BusinessObjects Explorer Indexing - Database Server Not Found

Hi,

I'm trying to create an Information Space in explorer based off of a Universe created on a Sybase IQ database. This Universe works just fine for queries in Web Intelligence.

In Explorer everything seems to be going fine with the Information Space creation up until the point where I need to index it. When I click 'Index' it takes about 5-10 seconds and then fails with the following error:

Latest indexing failed

Start Date: 2012/03/01 00:05

End Date: 2012/03/01 00:05

Server, BTH516781A.ExplorerIndexingServer, generated the following messages:

Index Creation Failed (

The execution of the specified analysis query failed.-[] <com.businessobjects.dsl.commons.exception.NestedException: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Database server not found>

[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Database server not found

[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Database server not found)

I have obviously made sure that the IQ database server is running, and in fact I can create reports with WebI.

Any guidance is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jeff

      Hi Experts

Got a solution for this kind of error

      solution is

1)Make sure the OBDC connections for IDT 64 bit and 32 bit are same

2)when configuring the odbc connection ,pls enter the database server name or ip address instead of local host (if both database server -sybase and BO are in same host)

      3) when starting the sybase database ensure that server name to be system name or ip address not a local host

4)test the universe in IDT whether the values are displaying or not

5)Make sure all the Explorer services are up and running

      6)test the indexing in Explorer

Hope this will help you guys 😊

      Thanks & Regards

      Sunil
