Delta Load Failure - Urgent

Former Member

Hi,

The overnight delta has failed with an error message "Value '342-Z168#Dell 1GB memory module ' (hex. ' ') of characteristic ZSHTTEXT contains invalid characters ". Although I know it is due to a invalid character. How should I get this done.

Thanks

sai,

i'm guessing that your ZSHTEXT is populated via a generic extractor - you should try to filter your invalid characters there, like in this case, it's possible that the space character really isn't a space.

or maybe it has something to do with the symbols (though i doubt it). whatever the case, work through all your customizations from the source first before dealing with it in BW.

Hi Sai,

If you have this request available in PSA, delete the red request from the datatarget and goto PSA maintenance, find your record and correct it manually, and load again.

Hi Shiva,

One possible solution can be by selecting 'Lowercase letters' in the infoobject definition for ZSHTTEXT. Double click on the infoobject and select/check mark 'Lowercase letters' in the infobject and activate it. Then, if your delta load is status is red then delete it and rerequest the delta agin and that will take care of your problem. All you have to do is run the delta update infopackage follow the on screen prompts like 'Last delta is failed do you want to rerequest the delta again' say yes. I believe this will solve your problem if there is an illegal character.
