Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data.. (WIS 10901)

Hello,

As you all know, this is very familiar error and I have went thru all the forums in the SDN and SAP OSS notes but still unable to fix the issue and hoping you experts can help me in fixing this.

Environment - Win 2008 R2, BOBJ Xi 3.1 FP 3.6, oracle 11

We have configured WinAD and working for InfoView however when we refresh the WEBI Report we are getting the error as below.

In CMC-->Authentication --> SAP --> enabled SNC, provided the service name and also in Windows AD -- provided the right SPN in Authentication option.

We are using SPN name called SERVICEBO in CMC Authentication and user with same name has been created in SAP and added SNC and assigned roles. Role Import able to import the roles in SAP Authentication.

when we refresh the WEBI Report we are getting the error as below.

com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.ServerException: A database error occured. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data.. (WIS 10901)

Hi,

you mentioned that you have configured SNC but I would like to clarify a couple of items on the SNC configuration here:

- when you talk about the SNC configuration are you referring to a client side SNC authentication or a server side SNC authentication ?

- which parts have been configured on the BW Server ?

- which parts have been configured on the SAP BUsinessObjects server ?

- has the SAP Authentication for the BW system been configured and roles / users have been imported on the SAP BusinessObjects server ?

regards

Hi Ingo,

Thanks for replying.

when you talk about the SNC configuration are you referring to a client side SNC authentication or a server side SNC authentication ?

Client Side SNC authentication

- which parts have been configured on the BW Server ?

created service USER in BWP and assigned the SNC SERVICENAME in SNC tab in SU01 and also assigned the roles

- which parts have been configured on the SAP BUsinessObjects server ?

in Authentication Tab --> SAP --> user id with SNC name and enable SNC in SNC tab with gsskrb5.dll path followed by SCN servicename

- has the SAP Authentication for the BW system been configured and roles / users have been imported on the SAP BusinessObjects server ?

Yes,

Now, after setting the SNC servicename in Entitlement system, when I goto ROLE Import am getting error "Incomplete Logon Data".

Please throw some light...

Thanks in Advance,

Yoga

Is your SIA's running under SERVICE user name ?

I changed SIA and tomcat username to service user. Now i dont see error "Incomplete logon data" in entitlement system but reports still throwing same error.

Looks like your service principal name is not able to contact backend BW system. Please check SNC0 t-code in BW.

Hi,

when you talk about the SNC configuration are you referring to a client side SNC authentication or a server side SNC authentication ?

Client Side SNC authentication

>> just to make sure, so we are talking about a THICK CLIENT (Windows) authentication with SNC Software installed on the client and you want to use the authentication in a browser ?

Now, after setting the SNC servicename in Entitlement system, when I goto ROLE Import am getting error "Incomplete Logon Data".

>>> So this is the CMC and this would not be CLIENT SIDE SNC. this would be server side SNC.

Could you outline the workflow that you trying to achieve that involves the SNC authentication ?

thanks

Ingo

Updated SNC0 still same issue.

@Ingo, we are using client side authentication KERBEROS SNC.

Did you update SNC0 t-code with BOBJ hostname and respective SPN ?

Check this note
