Hi All,
I am in the process of creating Webi reports on top of BEx queries.I have been exploring ways to resolve the #TOREFRESH issue in Webi Reports. My analysis, till now is
" default behavior is ,whenever we make the grain of the report to be more than the grain of the query(this is in the context of creating a Webi report directly on top of BEx), we would get the #ToRefresh in the measure cells(When the u201Cgrouping setu201D containing the value is not available in the data provider(BO micro cube)) .Refreshing the query resolves the issue"
This doesn't look like a user friendly option to me.
SAP BOBJ SERVER:SBOP BI Platform Servers 4.0 SP02 Patch 12
SAP BI RELEASE:701 SP9
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi
In other way
Create a universe on top of BEX query and change the data delagated to sum for each key figures in universe .
so that this issue will be solved

Check the filters. Sometimes the query filters make corrupt the refresh of the graphs. Remove them and check.

Hi,
following note fits Henry's comments from above:
1758513 - How to enable Auto-Refresh option for Web Intelligence Document for BI 4.0 SP04
After applying the note, following option will become available under CMC-> Application -> Web Intelligence:
Afterwards you can modify the corresponding property in the report:

Hi,
you have to wait for BO 4.1:

Hi Amit,
We will be receiving #TOREFRESH error when we use the OLAP Universe based on BW query or CUBE. It will be an issue when we schedule the report and we need to refresh again, if we get this error.

If it was that easy Henry or others would have given this advice.
Remains valid my previous communication

Thanks
More details about this particular enhancement in FP3 would certainly help.
When you referenced "Per Document" - do you mean "Per WEBI report"? If so then we could work with this assuming that #TOREFRESH feature could be turned on/off per WEBI report.

Hello,

Henry - are you saying that with FP3 WEBI will always refresh data from data source if there is anything changed on report? There are not going to be option at the report level to tun on/off #TOREFRESH?
Now that I understand differences between 'Reading' and 'Design' mode I do not mind seeing #TOREFRESH (and it even makes sense to see #TOREFRESH) messages when I add new/delete unused dimensions from query object. However if changing input control values will trigger automatic data-source refresh - our users will not be pleased.

Hi,
Yes, and therein lies our quandry: a solution for half the population becomes a undesirable hinderance for the other.
As i understand it, although details are sketchy, this automation of the #torefresh will be driven by a per-document configuration file which will need to be administered. (not by end- users)

H
Here is work-around that we used to eliminate #TOREFRESH from displaying in 'Reading' mode. We added sum function to measure columns. If measure column was '=[Order Qty] it was changed to =Sum([Order Qty]).
Depending on information displayed in some instances we needed to add dimension information within Sum function. For example - one of the formulas we used looks something like this = Sum([Order Qty] in ([Dim 1];[Dim2]))
This workaround does not eliminate #TOREFRESH in design mode when new dimensions are added/deleted to/from query object. There is no work-around when number of dimensions are changed in query object.
However this workaround worked perfectly to eliminate #TOREFRESH from displaying when we added Input controls filtering to the report.

Hi,
The #TOREFRESH story will change during FeaturePack03 codeline
- BICS measures will not automatically default to 'delegated aggregation'. (SUM will be used, if appropriate)
- =#TOREFRESH will be automated, so that it doesn't show #TOREFRESH and actually refreshes without notifiying the user.
(risk here is that users will complain "my report timed out, all i did was drag-drop calday")
