View sales forecast value in multiple currencies

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to view the sales forecast value in multiple currencies (local currency of the country of operation and USD) in a same planning area.

We have average sales price available in multiple currencies in BW which we are passing to APO.

So now for example person in Europe want to view his forecast value for his products, he should be able to see them in Euros, in one key-figure (forecast volumes * avg sales price in Euros) and in the other key-figure, in USD (forecast volumes * avg sales price in USD).

Similarly a person in India should be able to see in RS & USD and in Japan in Yen & USD.

Is there a way to view the forecast in multiple currencies in APO - DP.

Regards

Manu

Thanks Rishi,

I was not able to fully fallow your reply, though it seems from your reply that multiple currencies can be viewed in a single planning area.

As per my testing, if I attach a currency in the planning area info tab, all the other currencies are converted to the planning area currency even though no conversion type is defined.

Else if I donu2019t I attach a currency in the planning area info tab, no currency information is passed to the key-figures, even if the key-figure is created for fixed currency.

Any way I can solve this problem.

Thanks Rishi,

I understand my requirements are not as per the standard SAP way, thats way I was looking for some way arround.

I was planning to have only two key-figures, one for USD and other for the countery specific currency passed from BW through '0CURRENCY'.

Do you have Currency as a characteristic in your Planning Object Structure ? If you do, then you could predefine selections for a user based on their currency as part of the selection. You could face issues with disaggregation though, so be careful.

If you don't, then do you have currency implicit in some other characteristic like sales organization or country ? You could then use a auxillary key figure which is calculated by a macro that does a conversion based on user curency and currency that key figure is in. Display this calulated key figure in your planning book but hide the actual key figure that has multi-currency values.

The standard way of doing this is to have one key figure for price with values in the same currency as the currency of the Planning Area. You maintain exchange rates (can be transferred from ECC) in APO for the exchange rate type specified in the Planning Area. In the user specific settings for the planning book, you assign currencies. Planning book then displays data in whatever currency is assigned to the user.

Having multiple key figures for each currency like what you have is feasible only if you have a small pre-defined currencies in which you operate.
