Sort Multiple Properties

Hello All,

I have created few properties in KM and would like to know how can I facilitate multiple sort functionality in it.

Currently it is sorting on only 1 property but I would like it to sort on multiple properties.

Example: Initial Sortt on property A, then on property B such that actual sorting is on properties A & B.

Awaiting Reply.

Thanks and Warm Regards,

    Hi Ritu,

I expect you to want sorting within a LayoutSet (which in the end means sorting within a collection renderer)?!

First, the standard collection renderer do not offer such generic sorting possibility (only sorting for one property and for equal properties, sorting on DisplayName is supported, as far as I know from decompiling).

What you could do are two or three things:

    A) Implement your own collection renderer. To make it more easy, decompile the one you want to use and add the coding you need. Deploy within a new namespace. Use it.

    B) An alternative would be to switch on manual ordering for each folder (possibly by a repository service which does it on folder creation) and to determine the order programatically on document creation / change. Advantage: Would work for every existing LayoutSet. Disadvantage: A bit more work...

    C) MAYBE (didn't test it) you could do it by a trick: Implement a property filter which in fact does not filter but changes the order of the collection passed.

    Hope it helps
