PSAPTEMP FREE SAPCE 0MB after Oracle 11g upgrade

Dear all,

I've successfully finished Oracle upgrade on the production environment from 10.2.0.4. to 11.2.0.2 on HP-UX 11.31

When upgrading on development and quality assurance systems I didn't notice that in RZ20 for Database -> Oracle-> Space management-> PSAPTEMP tablespace have Free space 0% and 0MB.

In Oracle Enterprise manager it is not this picture it shows the 88% used space and I tried resize of one of the datafiles it succeeded without problems.

I checked the brtools and it is exactly like RZ20:

.....

26 - PSAPSTABI DATA ONLINE LOCAL AUTO NO NO 6/0 NO NO

15601664 87.22 ; 1994304 15601664 0 3 1864640:128960:704:0:0

27 - PSAPTEMP TEMP ONLINE LOCAL MANUAL NO NO 4/0 NO NO

9226240 0.00 9226240 9226240 0 0 0:0:0:0:0

28 - PSAPUNDO UNDO ONLINE LOCAL MANUAL NO NO 3/0 NO NO

6054168 0.00 ; 6053952 6054168 0 896 2351040:1232832:1083584:8192:8192

29 - PSAPUSER1D DATA ONLINE LOCAL AUTO NO NO 2/0 NO NO

.....

It says it is online.

I've checked the look in the 10.2.0.4 instance and RZ20 is not saying this 0MB free space.

Is it some known issue in Oracle 11g ...

Can this be a problem?

Thank you in advance.

I found the note Note 1528754 - Incorrect space display for PSAPTEMP in RZ20 with Oracle 11g

It says to implement SAPKB70024, but we are stil on SAPKB70012. When I started implementing just BASIS patches also needed some Developers intervention in MOdification ajustments and this actions were stoped for I some period

Thats why I need to implement just the correction instructions.

Can I just implement the correction instuctions ???

Ruzica

Hello Ruzica,

Can I just implement the correction instuctions ???

sorry i don't get the point. There is a correction available for SAP_BASIS 620 to 730 regarding sapnote #1528754.

You can use the view V$TEMPSEG_USAGE to manually monitor your temporary tablespace usage:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/dynviews_3107.htm#REFRN30285

Hello Stefan,

I was asking is it OK to skip patch-ing with SAP_BASIS 700, just to implement this Note corections.

I've checked the V$TEMPSEG_USAGE and it is empty.

Hi Ruzica,

You may go with Implementation of correction instruction rather than applying patches from SP13- SP24.

This may save lot of time and efforts

Thank you,

That's what I needed, to implement the corrections without patching the system
