Activation of new data in ODS results in errors. Urgent.please help...

Dear experts,

I have a problem while I load data from one ODS object into another one. I have some keyfigs which when loaded into the ODS are ok. (I mean the new data is ok) but the moment I activate the request, the keyfigures are turned automatically to zero. This peculiar performance is not observed in any of our development and certification systems. Another thing, is that the data load is an initial load and there exists nothing in the change log table as well before the load.

Any thoughts are highly appreciated. Any SAP notes on this issue??? Please help... urgent...

Hi Sravan,

You have loaded data by using initial delta ?, initial delta uploading should be done prior to delta uploading,

here in initial delta uploading data is not loaded only one record is uploaded.

Please give me further input in this regard

Yes, the type of update is initialize delta process. After the update, the keyfigures are ok (before activating and when checked in the new data table). But once after activating, the values are not correct anymore. Any ideas??? What amuses me is when I do this in development or certification system, this doesn't happen. Both production and development/certification systems are in the same patch level.

try to reactivate your ODS...maybe some pgm regenaration could be help you...

Yes, I reactivated the ods object using RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE. But still it doesnot help. When I contacted SAP, they advised me to retransport the update rules again. I did this three times now, but still the same result. Please let me know, if can try something else.

I think that is a manifest std program bug !

But I'm not able to find any OSS note and I strongly suggest to you to continue to talk with SAP asking for a real solution to your problem!

Hello Roberto,

I just wanted to update the status of my post. The problem is with the generation of the RSDRO_ACTIVATE program. SAP found this and advised me on the same. The transaction RSSGPCLA consists of the status of the programs. One can change the status here and reload the data, if any problems with ODS data loading.

Thanks for helping me. Yes, I checked the update rules and they are ok. The problem is not with the update rules, I guess. I delete the data first in ODS 1 and from ODS2 I load the data into ODS1. The data load is an init update. After loading the data, before activating the request, The new data is all ok. The key figure data is all as that is guided by the corresponding update rules. The moment I activate the request, the active data is all wrong. My Question is why the table containing new data is correct and after not after activating???

Since it is an initial update, I do not think change log should come into picture???

Any ideas???

please be clear what happend exactly when activating the data in ods. What is the mode of loading, i mean full mode or delta mode.Are loading the ods ot ods ?, when u got the error ,i mean while activating the data ods 1 or ods 2?
