SNP Master Update Prompt

Dear All,

I am getting a prompt "SNP master data update is in process- Do you want to wait while the update is finished?" whenevr i load the selection in all my SNP Planning Book.

Please suggest what can be the reason for it as i am getting this prompt even if no one is updating any Master Data in SNP.

Where can i see the details what is it triggering?

Hello,

I think this is because in customizing you are using "Always Process in Background" for TS queue processing.

You'll need to change this to "Always process in Dialog Mode", following the below steps:

SPRO transaction -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Network Planning (SNP) -> Basic Settings -> Maintain Global SNP Settings. Note that you will need an user authorized to change that.

The F1 help explains this behaviour: "Always Process in Background - SNP master data queue processing always takes place in the background."

Chaning it to process in Dialog Mode shoud avoid the pop up from being raised.

If you are changing master data very frequently you can schedule the report /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_QUEUE_UPDATE.For more information please refer to the note 1331576 which explains in detail about queue update.

Best Regards,

Hi Anuradhan

This will 'automatically' happen while loading data in //sdp94...This is by design....all the master data needed for snp are 'pulled'/organized everytime when you load data oin interactive planning,as per the 'Latest changes' (coming through CIF and or changed locally)

The message you are seeing is coming because of this..but you can control it with user parameter /SAPAPO/TS_QUEUE_UPD..Please refer the note:928972 ..propabbly you have this parameter already..

I think,this answers your query

Thansk and Regards

Hi,

Not possible to comment straight away. Am hearing such issue for the first time.

Go to SM37, and look at ALL the jobs that are currently "active" in your APO system. Is there a job, e.g. MASSD, running that could be updating your master data?

Similarly, go to SM37 in R/3 system, and see if any CIF job is in "active" state. Possibly you must be having CIF in the name of the job, so searching for jobs having CIF could help. Check even for any job using the report RCPTRAN4.

There is some chance that a job for CIF in R/3 or some job like MASSD in APO is hanged in the system or running for extremely long time. Then you could get it killed in SM50.

Apart from this, check in SM12 if there are any lock entries at this point of time (do not specify any user).

Thanks - Pawan

Dear Pawan,

Thanks for the reply but no active job exists in APO and in R3. No lock entries exists.

Hi Anuradha,

Note suggested by Suresh gives some hints about the issue.

I think the most relevant note might be 1331576. This would be relevant if you see lot of entries in the table /SAPAPO/TSQUEUE.

Try implementing the suggestions given in the "Remarks" section anyway, these are needed in APO as a good practice.

Thanks - Pawan
