Hi,
I am try to use the standard currency translate function to convert the currency from USD to CAD.I know I need to input the exchange rate in the convertion table, but do not know how should I do it? Is there a function the system can get it through the internet by itself or we have to manually input by the user?
Hi JW,
Look at the table TCURR to see if you already have an exchange rate for converting from USD to CAD. If not goto RSA1, choose your R/3 source system, right click and transfer exchange rates. Then you will have the exchange rates available.
Hope it helps,
Sree

Another way to get into the currency table is via transaction SPRO I think general settings and there is a currency section. Note, Ideally currency should not be populated direct in BW unless there is tight control but in R/3 and pulled into BW.
You need to know which exchange rate type you need to use and if you are using it for planning and budgeting, you need to be aware that the currency table gets overwritten so what you have now for the forecasted exchange rate for Dec 2005 may not be what you have in Sept 2005 for forecasted exchange rate for Dec 2005.
Hope this helps and some food for thought,
Mary
