AWUS Checks in but reports 'not valid setup server'

Windows 7 PC's running SAPGui 7.20 Patch 8 and latest SAP SETUP 9.0 w/ AWUS patch.

At computer boot, the AWUS starts, and creates it's log file and in it states:

"NwAWUServc 1W Error:
MGOAPDTST1\sapgui710_install\Setup is not a valid SapSetup folder

Yet ... once the pc is booted up, I can go into Windows Services and STOP the update service for a few seconds and then START again and it will check in just fine:

"NwAWUServc 1
MGOAPDTST1\sapgui710_install\Setup is a valid SapSetup folder"

This is happening on multiple Windows 7 systems, and yes they are plugged in and on the network at boot time. It is as if the AWUS is checking in too soon or something.

Base SAPGui install is w/o errors too.

Also ... this is happening with multiple installation servers, so it's not the server environment.

I have opened Customer Message: 0000173075 on the issue.

    • Jude, I have a few machines that are receiving updates. I also learned that they are all part of their dept's domain, the ones that are not part of a domain are the one's that doesn't update. Does this sound about right? and if so, is there any way of getting around it?

      thanks Larry
