Delete Temp DB Files

I run the SGEN and within this run the DB runs full.

Is it possible to delete temp files from SGEN in the DB or what can I do to reduce the size because the data which is wirtten is big.

Hi,

can you elaborate on which application you are using and on what circumstances you noticed that SGEN usage?

I think your question cannot be answered here in the MaxDB database forum as it is application specific, but with additional information from you, I might be able to route your topic to a forum it better fits in.

I use the solution manager 7.1

I´ve installed it and updated it with the newest sps.

Then I make a sgen and the db runs full

There is nothing from DB side I can think of. If MaxDB were to create internal temporary files, it would automatically remove them later.

Regarding SGEN (the ABAP mass generation) itself, I have not heard of any temporary data in ABAP tables, but then I am not an expert in this area.

I would suggest that you describe how much space you needed (or how by how much the db did increase before reaching full state) and what your total db size and used size was before the SGEN.

If you want, I could then move this thread to the SAP Solution Manager forum, but it my well be just normal that you have to have a lot of free space if you are to compile all of your ABAP sources.
