Hi all,

What gets loaded into the field VDATU in Sales Item

2LIS_11_VAITM datasource? It seens it is either of the create date or system date but what is the criterion?

Is there any customization which defines that view.

any help is appreciated.

Hi Anoop,

It's a requested delivery date from an order header.

Hello Eugene,

What you said is correct about the header. But there is also a VDATU field in the item extract structure (MC11VA0ITM). It is the Date of update for statistics updating as the field description says.

I wanted to know what that means. When I check the

values it is Create Date of the item. But when I

read the documentation, it says it can either be create date or System date. I am not getting the clear picture.

On what basis is these 2 different dates used? Can we

define that? Or do I understood it incorrectly?

Hi Anoop,

By running update statistics regularly, you make sure that the database statistics are up-to-date, so improving database performance.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/88/fce73a86e99c77e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

When the update statistics statement is executed, information on the table, such as the number of rows, the number of pages used, the sizes of indexes, the value distribution within columns or indexes, and so on, is stored in the database catalog.

So, I guess that VDATU has either a date of an item creation or a date of statistics updating. In case of order posting it is going to be a current date.

Here:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/ru/f9/6bec6eb435d1118b3f0060b03ca329/content.htm

you can see an interesting example. And it says that

the special date field (MCVBAP-VDATU) always contains the current date.

It is just your date from an order item level table.

Best regards,

Eugene
