Java PDK Vs Java Web Dynpro. - novice Question.

- Does APIs(Supposing we are using java in both cases) are same while programming in WebDynpro and PDK?

- Are there any significant differences from programmer's point of view?

I know that PDK requires complete programming where as WebDynpro ease programming by generating code automatically from GUI design.
