Can anyone advice for the use of HANA in the public sector? What kind of practical use and gain could we have in this sector?
There is a SAP HANA implementation at the US Recovery Accountability Transparency Board (RATB), an pioneer in open governmen (Recovery.gov).
SAP HANA to make government accountable to citizens for the $737 billion in stimulus funds.

Hello Lars,
I was thinking about de functional modules, just as you said about the profitability analysis in the FI-CO modules.
Could you tell me something for the HR module that HANA could be useful?

Hello wrequena,
HANA provides the same advantages to all use cases - high speed mass data analysis and processing.
Depending on how you use data in the public sector this will probably help a lot when dealing with the data of thousands or millions of customers and transaction items.
I assume that even in public sector you have things like profitability analysis - which could be improved immensely by using the CO-PA accelerator.
But if you ask whether there is already a public sector specific application build on HANA technology, the answer is: not yet.
Best regards,
Lars
