Webi Report Recovery - File exists but invalid

We made some universe changes and promoted to production, which seem to have corrupted a few webi reports.

We are trying to open a report in view, edit and get the following error:

File exists but is invalid (error:> INF). Any ideas or thoughts on how we can open, edit, or get the sql so we can recreate (if needed).

we use bo 3.14

this error text is searcheable from www.service.sap.com/xsearch or /notes

for example: 1507707 - The document cannot be created or opened. The error code is: FILE EXISTS BUT IS INVALID"

or 1448391 - Unable to create or modify a web intelligence document when setting Web intelligence rich client as the default creation/editing tool for webi document in Infoview Preferences

basically, try and restore a backup copy following the recommended practice

or, it's a bug that was solved sometime follownig SP2

I have to point out, your organisation needs to move to SP03 or above to qualify for maintenance support. the SP01 codeline is no longer compliant, and reference customers are typically on XI 3.1 SP03 FP3.7, XI 3.1 SP04 FP4.1, or XI 3.1 SP05
