Hi All,

I need to generate EWA report for a specific period. I am getting EWA till 12th Feb but i need EWA from 13th Feb till date.

Is it possible? If yes Please guide me how to do it?

Hello,

You need to understand some basics here.

EWA reports are based on a session period that is ALWAYS Monday to Sunday.

A session is scheduled on the Solution Manager System to generate the weekly report.

This is by default done on Monday so the EWA is as current as it can get ( the previous week)

You have the option to generate the EWA report on any day of the week, but that just has the effect of making the data older.

The Maintenance Package is scheduled on the ABAP stacks in SDCCN to run on time per day.

It will connect to Solman and get the session numbers of unprocessed service sessions ( not just EWA session by the way)

If it can open the session it will return the session number and create an SDCCN EWA task for each session and process it.

Ity gathers the collected data and prepares the transport and sends it back to Solution Manager where the Service session

is populated with teh colelcted data.

On the Java stack the data is written directly to the bi hourly, the hourly data is aggregated daiily by E2E_HK_CONTROLLER.

There is an SDCCN task scheduled on the Solman system for Each Java system that via the BI RFC transfers the data into the service session.

Then SM:EXEC SERVICES Runs, process the data in the service session and rates the report.

Can sessions be reprocessed? Welll the session data is kept on the managed system for 3-5 weeks. It is possible to reset a service session and reporcess it on the managed system.

However what is not possible is to generate an EWA for a period other than 7 days and ranging from Monday to Sunday.

You cannot generate an EWA monthly, or for 3 days or for 5 days.

If you look at a calendar you will see the last 7 day period was Feb. 06/022012 to 12/02/2012 ( Monday to Sunday)

The next EWA period com[pletes on 19.02.2012. So you will not be able to generate the nexty EWA until the collection period is over. So the earliest it can be generated is on 20.02.2012.

You cannot generate an EWA for a incompleted colelction week. Data from the 13.020.2012 is still in the active collection week period and is NOT available for reporting, despite data for this time frame actually existing. The EWA is a historic weekly

report. it cannot report on the current Active colelction week. Onc eit is completed on the 19.02.2012, then that period can be reported upon. And you can pick what day you want thos e reports to generate, but Monday makes them as current as they can be.

I hope this overview helps expalin why you cannot do what you are enquiring about, but also helps you understand the process a bit more.

Hi Deepak,

EWA reports are normally generated Weekly. The day and frequency is defined in SOLMAN solution in transaction DSWP.

Go to -> Solution Landscape -> Solution Landscape Maintenance -> Solution Settings and cehck the day and frequency

In managed system(Satellite system), it sends data packet daily to SOLMAN system, check transaction SDCCN, go to tab DONE,

There you can see the maintainnace package being sent daily.

If you really need data for 2-3 days also I think, you can manually create a maintaince session in SDCCN to send the data immediaitly.

I think you need in SDCCN to scheduled the refresh session to the date you need

or from the solman you need to choose the date you want?

what version of solution manager you have?

Thanks for reply. We have solman 7.0 ehp1. I tried the sdccn from managed system manually (i.e. that is without scheduled). But it givem me data for last week.

So where do we find the option to sent or extract data for specific period.?
