Hi Zack,

Technically speaking, there is no difference. A report can be saved as a template. A template can be used as a report.

We often use these terminologies without understanding their actual meaning.

Template: it is just a structure. We can create a report or input schedule based on a template and modifying it as needed.

Report: its a ready report which can be directly used for a specific purpose.

Hope you get the idea.

Hi Zack,

I think the basic difference is that we create a report from the scratch by using EvDRE, Drag and Drop or with Functions. Where as with respect to template the system provides several templates. You can choose which template you want and can do the customization.

Raghu, you can also create templates to be used by other users.

Hi Zack,

Yes, you can save a Report as a Template by -> eTools -> Save Template library. But to do this task you should have the authorization. Once it is saved you can make it available for other Users.
