Data load Error

Hi all

I loaded data into tha ODS and it is in the Newdata table but i could not activate it and send it to the Active data table ..what is wrong and how can i rectify this error and put the data in the Activate data table..

Mike, go to monitor screen take Record number which contains in valid '#' , open PSA maintanence and put record number over there, you can find details of invalid character. You can modify there and reload in to ODS.

Hi all,

Thanks for ur suggestions.

The problem is that i get the error message that i got some invalid characteristics..like '#' and '|' in the data and activation was stopped. so the job fails.

I loaded the data into the new data table and activating it manually . can anyone suggest me on how i can correct the records as the data package load is showing green

when i go to the PSA it also Ok ..and it contains 300 data packets..how can i search and delete the entries whic are wrong..or what else can be done..I tried to delete the data and relaod but i am ending up in the same situation everytime.

Hi Mike,

If the said Invalid Chars ('#', '|') are actually permitted to enter your Info Providers then under BW, go to tcode RSKC and maintain the special characters their.

If you dont want such data, you can always filter them in the Start Routines...

Hi Mike

Even i had the same problem of special characters. But i would suggest to make sure before deleting any data with special character because may be loss of any data will cause problem later, so try removing only special characters. I removed the special characters in PSA maintaines. Though the records will show green light in the PSA, we got to find out the records with spl chara or using of start routines would be best option(as suggested by Jkyle).

Do you have any old request with error status. If it is so, delete that and load the data again.

Mike one ODS have some settings. Please see if the "Activate ODS object data automatically" is on.

Hi Mike,

Can you elaborate on "could not activate it". Have you seen any error messages when you tried activating it. Is this the first time you are activating it? Did it happen in the process chain/manual run?

When you right click on ODS Object-->Manage --> select the reqeust and click on activate and then let us know if you see any error messages in the monitor or system dumps.
