Assigning the New Functional Area to GL account

Hi,

User is asking to assign the newly creted FA to the existed GL account and for this GL account there are huge no'f postings in Production for three Comp Codes. So this GL account using by three Comp Codes if i change the FA in GL impact will be for three comp codes right so please suggest me solution for it.
