SAP GTS Version Upgrade from 7.1 to Version 10.0

Hello My SAP Folks,

My client is currently running on GTS Version 7.1.

Now, my questions are...

Is it possible to upgrade GTS from our current version of 7.1 to the most recent version of 10.0?

I've looked in the SAP Service Marketplace for the necessary software and this path doesn't have the "Upgrade" link.

"Software Download" --> "Installations and Upgrades" --> "Browse Our Download Catalog" --> SAP Solutions for Governance, Risk and Compliance" --> "SAP GLOBAL TRADE SERVICES" --> "SAP GTS 10.0" -->

The only available links are

1. Product Availablilty, Maintenance Dates & Supported Platforms

2. Installation

3. Application Help (SAP Library)

4. Technical Documentation

5. SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0

I also noticted that in the "Preconditions" section on the "Info" tab.

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Pack 2 Application Server for ABAP is required.

So basically, long story short...

Can I upgrade GTS 7.1 to version 10.0? Or do I have to do a whole new installation of GTS Version 10.0 since, there isn't a link for the "Upgrade" software in the SAP Service Marketplace website?

Hello Wei,

In current scenario it is not possible to perform upgrade from GTS 7.1 to GTS 10.

For Software component SLL-LEG (GTS 10.0) Add on upgrade package are not yet released and hence upgarde to GTS 10 is not possible as of now. Only the installation package SAPK-900AGINSAPSLL has been released.

so in brief currently you can't perform the upgrade but you can perform the GTS 10 installation

I'm putting my query in this thread in order to keep the continuation of this topic. I know this thread is closed with assumed answer but I don't want to restart all over again. Hope this is the right approach.

I have a similar situation at my client location where they need to upgrade there GTS from 7.1 to 10.0. I have seen the last response from Sachin and get to know that there is only the installation package available. I just want to re-check if that is still valid today?

If the above is still valid then first I want to know whether we can move the configuration & enhancements from 7.1 to 10.0 system after the installation of 10.0? If it yes then what are the technical challenges and is this the recommended approach?

I also want to check the other possibilities of upgrading from 7.1 to 10.0 i.e. upgrading via GTS 8.0, the two step upgrade. Is this the recommended approach? If yes then can we perform upgrade on the same server?

According to the Product Availability Matrix, it is possible

"Upgrade to SAP GTS 10.0 from SAP GTS 7.0; SAP GTS 7.1; SAP GTS 7.2; SAP GTS 8.0 "
