Dear Guru's,

Well we have a situation that we need to provide the Base unit of measurement and alternative unit of measure should be displayed in one screen all the unit measurements at a time.

A Finish Product which contains all the unit of measurements should be displayed in one screen.

Hope will get a help full information.

Thanks & Regards,

i am looking for storing the material with different unit of measure which is same as purchasing unit of measure at the storage location.

Because our client will be procuring cloth having different widths from different vendors:

For example: Vendor A will be supplying the material 1000 meters having width 4feets

Vendor B having width 5 meters but material is same for both and unit price will be different for different width which is stored in info record.

Thanks & Regards,

I think batch management would be more appropriate for your scenario. Create a characteristic width for a class of type batch and when you receive stock from you can assign the value of the width as the characteristic value (either you can create a new batch every time or one batch each for different width).

Madhu,

Your requirement is unclear. It now sounds like you wish to see a stock display? Or.....?

Materials are always stored in the Base Unit of measure. I suggest that using 'Meters' as a Base unit of measure may not meet your business requirements, if you wish to accommodate vendors who supply various widths. A better option might be to store the material as Square Meters, or some other area-based Unit of measure.

An alternative would be as expert Jeevan has suggested; to use Batch Management, with Characteristics.
