Hello

I have a user who logged in system 3 days before., I could make out his last login thru Txn : RSUSR200"

I want to get which was terminal (host name / IP Addres) was used to login into the system.

STAD ...will give detailed info and aggregated into ST03N.

Now my Q is ...in ST03N where we can see Terminal ID

( few months before, I collected similar info , but lost navigation from hands)

Informative :

Hi PR,

Yes you need to get SM20 trace enabled to get this information in future.

One more try for your current requirement. go to STAD --> select time period --> in selection field choose Terminal ID field and click yes . it will show you list of users with terminal id details.

if above trick does not work ,then i would suggest to get SM20 log enabbled

HI...Rupali...Firstly tons of thanks for your replied.

Even this is obsolete as it stores max 48 Hours

● stat/max_files specifies how many statistics files the kernel uses. If the value of the parameter is greater than 0, a new statistics file is created for each hour. The size of the value determines how many statistics files are to exist simultaneously before the oldest file is deleted. The default value of the parameter is 48. This means that you can access the statistics data of the dialog step statistics within two days.

● stat/as_max_filesspecifies the corresponding value for the application statistics.

I think - it is 48 Hours

I think this is a good reason to configure and enable the Security Audit log for the next time

Hi....Juan....

yes i can consider it as good reason as you mentioned, But, what may be the penalty on over all system performance by enabling this audit log ? ( Disk space cost of this new audit logs is accepted over compliance )

Hi,

There is nothing impact in your system performance as well as your file system.

U can delete u r audit log files when ever u needed through t-code "SM18" or manually at OS level.

Now a days it's compulsory to enable the Audit log files they can be used in our Audit.

Absolute life saving info about SPAD. Thanks a ton. Wish I could allot points for that one. Luckily I was able to analyse the logs within 48 hours of things going wrong & no one taking ownership. Thanks again.

Hi PR,

You might get terminal information via table USR41.

pls specify correct input to LOGON_DATE and LOGON_TIME field to get required output.

HI...

I just saw this table, it contains only currently logged in user & Terminals,

will it be a good idea to enable logging for this table to handle similar situations.

Is it recommended to enable this ??

      • For current requirement , still i am in hunt for break thru on past data ***

Hi PR,

or else you can go to SM21 system logs and select that period when user logged into system.

Double click on entry to see terminal information of the user.

Hello ...Ruplai ..

Really it is really intelligent & quick Tweak to get my requirement..

But unfortunately, I have not archived my ' System log files"

as we all aware System log will get overwrittem , When this log file reaches the maximum permissible length, and it happened in my case. i.,e the logs are overwritten

The System Log

The terminal gets written on the security audit log (SM20) if you have it enabled. Security Audit logs do not get overwritten
