Material group in Purchase F4 to show only values belong to Purch Org.

Hi Gurus,

We have a requirement like the following.

In Purchase order in field material group if somebody is opening the F4 search help,

there should only appear material groups, which belong

to the purchase org in Purchase order. The other should be hide.

I was thinking of make an append to T023, and then

restrict the values in Purchase Order material group F4 search help.

Is there any exit or BADI or modification which would allow to

restrict the appearing material group values?

Yes there is. We did a similar logic where we showed different values based on item category.

Material group has no assignments either with Purchasing Organization or the Plants, so putting validation on it is difficult. If material group maintained in Material master then generally it will default the same.
