How to separate short from long term flows/acco in the same TRM transaction

Former Member

Hi Expert:

My client has lot of TRM transactions as long_term cause their due date is more than 1 year in the future.

Due to legal requirements, regardind the same transaction and their flows, they need to post assets and liabilities that are due before 1 year in different accounts from the long-term ones.

So the question is if there is any way to post short_term flows in different accouts from long_term flows that belongs to the same transaction or there is any transaction or report in trm to do it or shall it be done via Fi module.

best regards

Claudio

Hi,

As all the transaction are base on Account Assignment reference, you have to create two AAR one for short term and second is for Long term.

Default make AAR to long term and suggest your client to change the aar from long term to short term from positon indicator when they are in last year to make different accounting entries.

Sorry Narinder, I think solution goes in another direction as was discussed where Ravi suggested.

The problem are Debts/Assets of long term whith a current portion (that is the portion of the Debt/Asset that due in 12 month) that needs to be separated in a different account from the long term portion. So 2 portions (flows) of the same transaction needs to be posted in 2 different accounts.

ie if i have a interest rate instrument of USD 10.000 with a due date 10 years from now on but with installment repayment of USD 1.000 every 12 months , the balance needs to reflect USD 1.000 in Short Term account deposits and USD 9.000 in Long Term account deposits which are segregated in 2 different accounts.

Hi,

For this you have to do a valuation class transfer. This has been discussed many times in this forum..

Please take a look at the following link:

Or else search the forum for valuation class transfer.

Hi Ravi:

I ve been reading carefully what you suggest. what sap note # 1515125 implement is realy what I need for my Client about current portion of a long term debt.

But reading this note and the related ones referred 1515126 & 732499 I really do not know wich is the solution for my client.

The system status of my Client is EA-FINSERV 600 Level 0018 SAPKGPFD18

The afffected releases regarding note 732499 are

SoftwareComponent Release From Release To Release And subsequent

EA-FINSERV 10 110 110

EA-FINSERV 200 200 200 X

BANK/CFM 46C 463_20 463_20

The afffected releases regarding note 1515125 & 1515126 are

Software Component Release From Release To Release And subsequent

EA-FINSERV 604 604 604

EA-FINSERV 605 605 605

Obiously regarding what i mention I do not have TPM44 (is TBB4) and TPM15M

TPM15 only hs Product Groups Securities and Loans (not OTC tx)

At TRGC_COM_VALCL table there is no entry to set the flag "current portion of a long terms debt/assets"

So wich is the solution in my case? I will appreciate any help

Hi,

As I can see from your system, you are in base ECC6. Unfortunately that note is applicable only if you are in EH4 where you can reclassify current portion of the long term debt.

For older releases, essentially this has to be done manually either using other flows or just going ahead with an accounting entry. Just check the below forum which speaks about the pros and cons for older releases:
