Scrap Quantity component in the production order

Dear gurus,

in the material master of a component i insert the scrap % ( view mrp4) = 10 %.

The field is read by planning Mrp and explosion of bom , but when i inseert this component in the production order manually the system don't read this % and the field "scrap quantity in the component detail of the production order is blank.

Are there a setting for uograde this field ( in the production order ) when i insert MANUALLY the component in the production order?

Example:

1) material master of the component > scrap % (view MRP4 ) = 10 %

2) production order created

3) insert this component quantity 100 pc and the system after read the material master insert 110 pc , and upgrade the field automatically 10 % (as material master)?

Thansk a lot

Hi Danielepistilli,

Well there is a lot of difference is there: see you are creating production order for header material which is FG. If you maintained component scrap in material level it will be dependent on BOM quantity which you maintained for the header material.

For example say component x quantity is 50 in BOM. How it will calculate when you run the MRP.

component scrap % is 5% then:

===> (5/100) * 50 + 50

Formula is: Percentage of scrap quantity x original quantity + original quantity

So ===> 52.5 quantity should be come for component

So, the order quantity for the header material will not take this quantity or scrap but if you see individually in MD04 screen for X material you can find this quantity ok.

I hope it clears your doubt and helps you any queries please revert me back.

Hi Krishna Chandra

the insert whit the same component was an example.

My requirement is insert in the production order created a new component C(ROH Material) don't present in BOM ( iwhit the material master scrap % compoenent (view 4 ).

This scenary is when the component B is don't avalaible and we must sostitution this component whit the component C,D,E,F..

all whit the scrap compoenent % in the material master(view 4).

IN this case when insert C,D,E,ecc. i would like that the system read the setting in the material master and calcolate automatically the quantity scrap component after that we insert the requirement quantity .

Exampe we insert :

component C

requirement quantity = 100

type item = L

and the system calcolate :

Requirement quantity = 110 and Scrap component % = 10 %

is possible?

thanks

For your substitution scenario why don't you maintain them as alternate BOM items and use the MRP calculation to do the substitution.

Hi Krishna Chandra

i would the COMPONENT SCRAP % and not the ASSEMBLY SCRAP.

I try explain my question :

BOM :

FERT = A

ROH compoent = B

Material master ROH component in the view 4 i insert in the field "scrap component" = 10 %.

After i create a production order for the FERT 100 pc material and the system explode the BOM and calculate correcctly the % of scrap whit this result in the Overview component

component B (ROH ) requirement quantity 110 pc and field component scrap % = 10 % is OK.

But when i insert manually the same component for the 110 pc the field "component scrap % is blanck.

My question is : are there a setting for upgrade this field aslo when i insert manually the component in the production order?

thansk a lot

Hi Daniel,

I dont understand your concept. What is the need of manually entering the component in the production order if already it is existing and the component scrap is correctly calculated. Revert back with your exact requirement.

Krishna Chandra

Hi danielepistilli,

I think you are confused with component scrap and assembly scrap. If you want the production quantity to be increased by 10% in the production order, then you have to give 10% in the assembly scrap field of MRP 1 view not in the component scrap of MRP 4. Try this and come back.
