Planning Issue

Hi All,

Can you all please provide me some advise on the below issue?

We have a requirement in our plant wherein the Sales team is sure of getting a Sales Order from a customer but not in hand yet. Hence they want to procure the material in advance so whenever this Sales Order comes, we can deliver it to the customer.

Here the issue is we do not have any demand and also we do not want to drive this by having forecast(PIR's) as the PO for this material and the stock can be issued to other demands since it becomes Make-To-Stock. We do not want MRP to recognize the PO to satisfy other demands as well as do not want to consider stock resulting from GR of a PO to satisfy other demands.

How can we achieve this?

One option we thought of is to create a dummy Sales Order with Dummy Customers and procure the material like we do with Make To Order. So there will be Customer Stock and the PO wihich dedicatedly is assigned to the Sales Order.

So when the real Sales Order comes we can issue this Stock form dummy Sales Order to the real Sales Order. But I think there might be some revenue or reporting issues from finance end in this case.

Please let me know if you can think of some other options of achieving the above scenario.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rahul.
