Temporary position

When an employee retire or getting transferred to a new position during transition period the temp position is created for a employee who will be replacing this current employee. Once current employee if moved out of this position, the future employee is moved in. Then this current position should be closed or re-used. Is this how we should handle this process or a better way?

Hi,

Suppose employee is moved to other position 50000001 from existing position 50000000.

Once transfereed to 50000001 with effective start date the existing position or earlier position 50000000 will be free of A008 relation i.e. no person would be assigned to it on that date and onwards and can be used as position for new employee.

If employee is retired then position 50000000 will automatically get delimted in IT0001 and relation ship A008 for 50000000 will also get delimited and assigned to 99999999 (or it may be anything that you may have sepecified in table T77S0 for PLOGI PRELI).

Thanks,

Ameet

Actually, we found more success moving the replacement person into the same position. Of course, the best approach will solely depend on your particular business needs but I can give you more details if you feel that this may work for you.

Please share details. I suggested to share position 50:50 by 2 holders until one moves out but this can casue Comp issues with interfaces.

If sharing the position 50/50 might cause you issues with comp (if you can be more specific), you can set them up as Jinu suggested. The thing you want to stay away from is creating a lot of master data that only has temporary use. This will help keep your administrative effort as low as possible.

We do not use Feature TARIF, instead comp data is added to the position and defaulted from the position so if leaving employee has different comp data than the new one, keeping 2 employees in the same position causes issues.
