Query on Loss of Pay

The following is a requirement in my project regarding Loss of Pay (LOP):

Sometimes, some employees are deducted salary for one or more days as a disciplinary measure. E.g. the management decides to cut 3 days salary of an employee, as a disciplinary measure (due to inadequate performance or misbehavior etc.).

How do we address this issue, because the employee's salary should be deducted by 3 days, even though the employee is "present" for all the days in the month.
