MB1B transfer posting error "SL stock in transfer exceeded by 20 PC."

Hi All,

I'm doing a MB1B transfer posting for my materials from 1 storage location to another using movement type 311,

but some of the materials I encountered this error.

"SL stock in transfer exceeded by 20 PC : 'Material name' 'Plant' 'Stor. Loc' "

I went to MB5T to check the materials if it's in the stock in transfer, but they are not in the list.

I've also check in MMBE to check the stock value of these materials, it shows 100 in unrestricted use which is more than what I'm transferring.

May I know what have i missed checking?

Please help and thank you.

Hi There

Seems you are trying to do the One step Transfer between locations (311), So it is not required to look into the 313, 315 steps (Stock in trasfer, Removal and palce in transfer)

From the Suppling location these Material and Batch is reserved for some purpose(261 or 201) and these material may under Dynamic Availability Check, In this case even if you have the stock in Location if it is hard allocated for some other purpose you cant use this qty

Please check the above settings.

Thanks

Is this info(movement type) really correct?

I have never seen a message like this for a 311 movement, 311 is storage location to storage location movement, why should SAP check stock in transfer in such a case? or did you do some customizing for this movment?

Hi Jurgen,

Yes I'm doing for the movement type 311. The puzzling thing is exactly what you have mentioned. Why would the system check for stock in transfer when it's on from storage location to another location?

We have tried MMBE, MM5B and dynamic availability check but didn't see any value on hold.

As of now no customization was done yet, but we are looking at the possibility of customizing to solve the problem.

Just an update, my user has checked for any work order issued in MD04 but there's none, so there should not be any reservations for those materials. Still wondering what could be holding the stock values.

Hi,

When you are using 311 mov type, you will get the error message as deficit of SL stock by x PC.you will encounter this message only when you are doing two step stock transfer between stg locations by 313 and 315 mvt types.

Please check your mov type while transfering.

HI,

check your stock for storage location level in MMBE

also check in MB5B also check on posting date

and stock should be unristricted stock type l only in MMBE
