Unsupported Provider: BPCMDX.4 BO 4 BPC 7.5

Adding a shorcut connection to a project in INFORMATION DESIGN TOOL generates the error Unsupported Provider: BPCMDX.4, connection was created before in CMC with the NEW OLAP CONECCTION wizard.

ODBO is installed in designer side.

BPC 7.5 on server 2008

BO 4.0 on server 2008

    Hi,

I assume your BPC is the MS version ? (i.e. for Analysis services)

Here's is a recap of the driver architecture in BI 4.0:

    - Universe Designer Tool , MSAS OLAP .UNV, uses the OLE DB (ODBO) driver.

    - Information Designer Tool , MSAS OLAP .UNX , uses the XMLa interface, to IIS on the MSAS server.

So, 2 things are confusing me here :

    1) how did you create an OLAP connection in CMC to BPC7.5 using ODBO ?

    2) I'm not sure if any manipulation of OLEDB (ODBO) is possible in IDT - due to no longer being supported.

I would be very intereted to know if you have an open Support message for this concern? (pls. quote of poss.)

    Regards,

    H

According to the documentation, an access to the conecction type Planning and Consolidation 10 for Microsoft should be avaliable, but it's not.

In the IDT, Accessing to New - > New OLAP Connection -> SAP, SAP NETWEAVER BI 7.X is available only.

ODBO it's not longer supported and i was making a mistake by taking it .

Yes, a support message have been created.

    Hi,

I am also facing the same issue. Details are here.

We are using BO4.0 SP4 version, and the BPC 7.5 (Microsoft) is the source

I tried to create the connection in two places like below.

    1 . In CMC

    Connection Name:

    Server Name: http://serverip/XMLA/XmlaWebService.asmx

    User Name:

    Password:

Issue:  After typing password its keep on running and there is no response.

    2. In IDT

    Server: http://serverip/XMLA/XmlaWebService.asmx

    User Name:

    Password:

    Language: English

Issue: Error Code: 401, Description: Unauthorized

Another story is i have creates SAP Support ticket like 3 weeks before but i did not get any solution from them.

Is there is any specific settings/Configurations needs to be done for connecting BPC?. Also is there is any reference document available?

It will be great if some one help me to resolve this issue.

    Thanks & Regards
