Hi,

I have a user created in CMC. I need to configure security for the user to have access to 1 XYZ folder only. The user should not have access to any other folder or server or inbox, or query manager etc.

I have trying to give this full access to the folder and disabling inherit privileges option. this does not work.

Also how do i set preferences for the user such that when logged in XYZ folder should be displayed.

We can do it other way around.

Log into CMC

Go to Folder -> Manage -> Top Level Security -> All Folders

Add Principal -> (add user) ->click on 'add and assign security'

Click on 'Advanced' tab

Click on 'Add/Remove Rights'

Scroll down, select the radio button for "View Objects" and uncheck "Apply to Sub Objects" (last check box). Leave 'Apply to Objects' checked.

click OK

Now go to the specific XYZ folder, add the user and grant him full control. This only gives full control to the XYZ folder, user wont be able to access other folders.

Hi san,

1.Login as administrator in CMC>Go to folders in CMC>select manage from tool bar>Top-Level security>All Folders-->a dailog box will open for user Security.

In that click Add Principals>select the user name>click add and assign security>select Ful control> apply-->Ok

2.Now after doing this the user will be able to access all the folders .

Now go to folders in All Folders (which is root folder) and rightclick on all the sub folder>user security>select the username for which you want to give access to only the folder XYZ>click on Assign Security>uncheck the "Inherit From Parent Folder"and Inherit From Parent Group" >Apply>Ok

Follow the step2 for all the folders except XYZ folder.

Now login in InfoView with that user and you will be able to see only the XYZ folder for the user.
